Attitude of Gratitude

I was so amazed this weekend by the power of God's love. If you ask, He will provide...in His will...in His way.

I have really been wanting a new keyboard for recording purposes. I even had this very cool Yamaha picked out. We have been trying to budget our money lately, so I've just been patiently waiting.

Last Sunday we led worship at a church and after we were finished, this stranger came up and handed us $100 bill. "Go out to lunch on me", he said. Everyone was busy afterwards, so we kept that money thinking we could use it on something else....gas, food at a latter date....(keyboard?) The next day, Justin felt this extreme sense to give that $100 away to someone we know. We agreed that if that was what God wanted us to do with it, we would. We haven't gotten the opportunity to do that yet, but I had come to the conclusion that the keyboard would again have to wait.

Then a few days ago, this man that Justin works with calls and says he has something for us. He pulls up with a brand new keyboard! He found it at a fraction of the price in the stores. He just wanted to give it to me. Now that is love....Brotherly love meets Heavenly love.

I just want to say how grateful I am for the love of all those around me and especially the love of God. Everything really does happen for a reason. Karma does exist. This is not the first time something crazy like this has happened, but each and every time I like to think it is God saying "Hello! I still love you! Well done my good and faithful servant!"

Slow Down and Thank Him Challenge

There is alot going on in our life's on a daily basis. Its a 8hr work day come home get something to eat then off to the litttle ones activities. Or rush to get the yard mowed before we have to get to church for Choir practice. The house is a mess, but dont have time to clean because band practice is in a hour. My point is that we are so busy living our life's at 100mph. Getting so wrapped up in things that need to be done. It kinda carries over into our relationship with Jesus. I started thinking about this the other day after Derek and myself started talking about it. Derek was talking about how he began to really think about what God has done for him. How God has changed his life. I began to really just think about the same. Wow He's right,  I started thinking back 5 years ago about where I was in my life and how God has done so much for me, its crazy. But Lately I've been so busy, so wrapped up in getting things done, I forgot to think about what God has done for me. I think its kinda the same for everyone, even on Sunday mornings. We rush to make it on time, There is praise and worship music but we have a distraction of some sort or its not your favorite songs. We listen to the words of God from the preacher. Then Prayer time where we ask God to move on other things in our life's we need. Before ya know it were back into Monday and already busy, busy busy. I would like to challenge everyone right now, to take at least 10min if not more to just stop what you are doing.before you go to bed. Maybe get with the family, or better yet just yourself. And just reflect on what God has done for you that day. Thank him for what he has done. Even if its something small like having a parking space up close at the grocery store. Slow down and thank our God. You will begin to realize how much apart of your life he really his. Dont let Life's busyness pull ya away. just Worship him and thank him.
